Supplying Specifications & Text
Your site specifications and text should be supplied as
either a Microsoft™ Word™ document or in the body text of an e-mail
message. The first page/part of your content document should show the site
format style code you have chosen, the settings
you have made in the "Banners & Buttons" control panel, a list
of your section headings and any Pantone™ (PMS) colour references that
your corporate style uses. Each new page should have the page style
code followed by clearly marked up text for each page with subheadings,
body copy, image captions, which column, etc. all clearly marked. If there
is any area of text that needs to be emphasised in any way (i.e. bold, italic
etc.) this should be clearly indicated. (A PDF document will be available
soon with full instructions for supplying content.)
Supplying Images
Images should be supplied in JPEG format or GIF format
via e-mail or on CD (files that have a .jpg suffix are JPEG files, files with
a .gif suffix are GIF files). JPEG format tends to give better results with
photographs or graphics that have a lot of varied tonal content. GIF format
is usually better for hard edged graphics with a limited colour range. Images
do not need to be supplied at there final intended size as we will resize
and optimize all images anyway. Unless intended for a banner graphic or high
resolution use in a gallery section, images should be kept reasonably small,
i.e. not more than 480 pixels on their longest side. You can also send us
transparencies or photographic prints if you prefer. Where the cost of scanning
isn't already included in the cost of the item for which the image is intended,
scanning is charged at £10 per image.
Supplying Your Logo
This should be supplied as one of the following: Illustrator
or Freehand EPS file, JPEG or GIF file.
Supplying other types of graphics
If you have other types of graphics such as graphs or
pie charts in Excel, or maps we can usually convert these to JPEG or GIF format
if you supply the original file. If you have other graphics created in Illustrator
or Freehand it is usually possible to convert them into Macromedia Flash™
format. It is also possible to re-create graphics in Macromedia Flash™,
especially useful if you want an interactive graph for example, that can update
itself to reflect user data input. Please call us on 08701 999 868 to discuss
the cost for this type of work.
